I wrote a scraper in PHP that provides a cleaner search interface for Project Playlist and the power of Google spelling suggestions. For example eletrik haze has is a typo and returns no results. ” Did you mean: elektrik haze” is provided to correct your search.
It also records recent and popular searches from Scrapelist. Searches become more popular from repeated searches and when multiple pages of the results are browsed.
I had made a version that shows album covers pulled from Google or Amazon but it was slow and not always correct covers. I do not want to cache all those images and I prefer the simple, clean interface.
